About the Role
We’re looking for a Registered Nurse to join our friendly and well-established surgical specialist practice (sub speciality in cancer surgery) on a permanent full-time basis. This is a great opportunity for a nurse who enjoys variety, working closely with patients, and being part of a supportive, close-knit team. As one of two practice nurses, you will work closely with the surgeon, practice manager, and administrative team to deliver high-quality care to patients across their surgical journey.
What You’ll Be Doing
Comprehensive wound care and wound management
Providing pre-operative and post-operative patient care
Providing clinical support for 2x specialist surgeons
Assisting the specialist during minor procedures in rooms
Maintaining infection control and sterilisation standards
Stocktaking and maintenance of our minor procedure facilities (2x procedural rooms)
Managing patient enquiries
Providing patient education, support and reassurance
Managing clinical documentation and patient records
Occasional medical reception duties
What We’re Looking For
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
Previous experience in surgical or practice nursing
Ability to run a wound-care clinic on-site independently (doctor support available remotely)
Experience in a surgical or specialist setting is ideal, but not essential
Great communication skills and a warm, patient-focused approach
Excellent attention to detail
Good organisational skills, with ability to prioritise tasks
Ability to work under pressure with high patient turnover
Individuals who can work well both independently as part of a small-knit team
Some flexibility in hours (early starts and late finishes depending on demand)
Availability to work on Saturdays occasionally
